Shortly About Hazarath Umar Farook Bin Khattab

Umar Farooq’s (RA) name was Umar bin Khattaab, his nick name was Abul Hafs and his title was Farooq (the one who clears truth of untruth). Umar Farooq (RA) embraced Islam in the sixth year of prophethood when he was 33 years old. Before him 39 men had embraced Islam. When Umar Farooq (RA) embraced Islam the Muslims expressed Allah’s greatness loudly. 

On the morning of 23 Dhul Hijjah in 23 AH, Umar Farooq (RA) was leading the morning Salah’s congregation. A Zoroastrian slave named Firoze wounded him with a knife. After four days of this incident Umar Farooq (RA) died on the first day of Muharramul Haraam in 24 AH. He was buried next to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and Abu Bakr Siddique (RA). The duration of Umar Farooq’s (RA) Caliphate was 10 years, six months and four days.

"There is no disease that Allah has created, except that He also has created its treatment."

Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said that she heard the Messenger (saw) say, "This black seed is a cure for every disease except death. " [Saheeh al-Bukharee (5687)].

Khalid bin Sa'd (ra) said, "We went out and with us was Ghalib bin Abjar (ra). He fell sick along the way and when we came to al-Madinah, he was sick. Ibn Abu 'Atiq (ra) came to visit him and said to us, 'You should use this black seed. Take five or seven (seeds) and grind them then apply them to his nostrils with drops of olive oil on this side and on this side for Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated to them that she heard the Messenger (saw) say, "This black seed is a cure for every disease except death." [Saheeh Sunan ibn Majah (3449)]. 

The benefits of Kalonji (black seed) has also been mentioned in Ahadith; Abu Hurairah (Radhiallahu Anhu): narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)said: "Use this black seed. For indeed it contains a cure for every disease except As-Sam" And As-Sam is death. Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2041

Health Benefits of Black Seeds OilThe Black seed is the common fennel flower plant (Nigella sativa) of the buttercup family. This herb grows to about 16-24 inches and has finely divided foliage with blue flowers.   From this plant, comes a small black seed, which is also known as the blessed seed or black seed, and some call it the Arabian seed because of its habitat.  The Black Seed plant is also known by other names, and they vary between places.  The Black Seed has been used for over two thousand years.  It has been said that the Black Seed should be used regularly because it has a cure for every disease except death.

  •  Eat black seeds plain;

  •  Burn black seed with bukhoor (incense) for a pleasant scent.

The popular black seed, Nigella sativa, is another immune enhancer. Chew seven black seeds thoroughly as soon as you wake up in the morning and then follow them with a spoon of honey to relieve congested sinuses. Hot drinks of ginger and rosemary leaves clear the sinuses, too. A teaspoon of black seed oil in a hot drink sweetened with honey soothes coughs.

Black seeds or Nigellea sativa, an excellent antioxidant, have been used for centuries, both as an herb and pressed into oil for medicinal purposes by people in the Middle East, Asia and Africa. They have been traditionally used for a variety of conditions and treatments related to respiratory health, stomach and intestinal health, kidney and liver function, circulatory and immune system support, and for general overall well-being. Black seeds are even mentioned in the Hadith, the sayings of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The Prophet Muhammad once stated that the black seed can heal every disease except death.

The earliest record of its cultivation and use come from ancient Egypt. Black seed oil, in fact, was found in Egyptian pharoah Tutankhamun’s tomb, dating back to approximately 3,300 years ago.[i  In Arabic cultures, black cumin is known as Habbatul barakah, meaning the “seed of blessing.” It is also believed that the Islamic prophet Mohammed said of it that it is “a remedy for all diseases except death.”

For treatment of flu, a combination of black seed and olive oil has an effective impact. For this, add eleven tablespoons of olive oil in one tablespoon black seed powder, heat it, bring it to boil and then strain the oil. Also, mix one teaspoon of black seed oil in a cup of hot water and add lemon and honey to it; drink it three times a day.

Black seeds/nigella/black cumin/Indian cumin — is a common folk medicine used all over the world for the treatment and prevention of a number of diseases. Prophet Mohamad (peace be upon him) said: “It cures every disease except death”.

Studies have revealed that these cumin seeds possess an anti-diabetic activity brought about by the stimulated insulin release.
