Farz and Wajib Rules of Umrah

TIME FOR UMRAH

For UMRAH there is no Specific time. This can be done any time during the year except during the time of HAJJ. As per Imam Abu Yosuf ” the exception is for 9th of Dhul Hijja(Arafa). The exception is on the day of Qurbani (sacrifice) inHAJJ and days of Tashreeq (9/10/11/12/13 of DhulHijja) as per the fiqh of Imam Abu Hanifah

There are Two FARZ in Umrah

 a) Ihraam

 b) Tawaf 

There are Two WAJIBAT

a) Saiee between SAFA and MARWAH 

b) Doing Halaq (Shaving of Head) 

In IHRAAM there are two FARZ

a) Niyyat (Intention) 

b) Talbiyah 

There is one FARZ in Tawaf and it is Niyyat (Intention). 

In Saiee the first four Circuits (Shawts) are FARZ

Prohibitions of Ihram:

After intention and Talbiyah, you are in the status of Ihram and from this time on you should not do acts that are forbidden in Ihram , for example, here are some of the things a muhrim must not do:

• Cover head (men)
• Cover the middle bone of the upper part of the feet 
• Shave / cut hair
• Cut nails
• Applying perfume
• Wear stitched clothing (men) / (Women can wear their ordinay clothes)
• Hunting / killing Animals
• Sex, Talking about Sexual Speech
• Fighting with others

Journey towards Makkah. When this sacred journey towards Makkah al-Mukarrama starts, recite Talbiyah frequently on the way. Then enter the city very humbly and with great fondness still reciting Talbiyah.

After arranging for your residence, proceed to the Haram Sharif to perform Umrah.
