Vinegar ( سرکہ ):
A food Prophet Muhammad (SAW) used to eat with olive oil.
Aisha radiallahu anha narrated that the Prophet salallahu alahi wasallam said:
“ Vinegar! the best of dipping.” [“Drinks”: Saheeh Muslim. 1051].
Dipping: the act of putting something in a liquid for sometime; e.g. He dipped the bread into vinegar; he immersed bread into vinegar and ate it.
In fact, vinegar contains a small quantity of protein and starches; not only that, it has the following elements and minerals: sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, phosphate, iron, zinc and chloride.
In a book about the advantages of apple vinegar by Dr. Morris Hansen and Cyril Scott, it is said that apple vinegar has a number of benefits. It:
2. Activates the process of digestion and metabolism in human body;
3. Prevents dental decay;
4. Kills parasites in the stomach and small an large intestines;
5. Improves digestion in those who suffer from indigestion.
Besides, it functions as an disinfectant for the intestines.
It can also be used to rinse out the mouth and throat from any bacteria; it cleanse the mouth and throat from any germs. (Extracts from the Prophetic Medicine)
